Washer

Oh great! The washer won’t start! Or worse, it’s making noise, jumping around the room and smells like it’s burning. Well, maybe it’s not that bad, but it’s still a little scary.

Visions of extensive and costly repairs dancing in your head? Don’t fear, PoseTek is here! Give us a call and we’ll send a qualified factory trained technician to tame the monster and allow you to get back to the wonderful task of washing clothes and doing laundry 🙂

But first lets look at a couple of things you can do on your own to solve the problem if your washing machine is not starting.

Did you check to see if the washer is still plugged in? You can not believe how many times husbands and boyfriends disconnect the plug in the laundry room to find an electrical outlet for their man toys. Really!

If it is plugged in and still not working, check the house breaker. Make sure it’s not tripped. If it is, reset it. If the breaker keeps tripping, give us a call. This could be the sign of a more serious electrical problem.

On the newer washing machines with electronic displays, you may have an error code showing. This code is usually a combination of a two digit letter or number. If you see this, write it down and call us for service. This is indicates that something a little more complicated is happening to your machine.

Here are some of the things that can go wrong with a washing machine including:
Washer not turning on
Not filling with hot water
Not filling with cold water
Not filling with warm water

Dryer

O.K. now that the washer has finished the cycle, you go and remove the laundry. You place it in the dryer and select the proper dry cycle, but wait, it’s not starting!

Is it plugged in? If so, check the house breakers. Reset them even if they look like they’re not tripped. These few simple steps may save you a service call. Just like the washers, dryers with electronic displays usually show codes when they experience a mechanical or electrical problem. Write the codes down and call us for service.
